I'm Brett. Growing up, I was always active and played a range of sports including football, cricket, and gymnastics, but baseball has been the mainstay for the last 20 odd years. After taking an extended break from competitive sports, I turned to exercise as a way to reconnect with my body and gain strength and confidence. I bought a pair of gymnastics rings to hang from the veranda, and I haven’t looked back since. I found a passion for using exercise to improve physical health and mental wellbeing, leading me to pursue a career in exercise science at UniSA. I transferred degrees to become an exercise physiologist with the aim of helping others continue doing, or returning to what they enjoy the most. What drew me to PhysioWest was the welcoming and supportive nature displayed by each team member and their proactive approach with clients. I have a keen interest in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, mental health, and chronic pain. Outside of the clinic, you’ll find me on the baseball diamond, trying out new restaurants, or at local gigs. In the MLB, I follow the St. Louis Cardinals and LA Angels; in the AFL, I loosely follow the Crows, despite my partner’s family being die-hard Port fans.

My favourite memory at PhysioWest was our most recent Team Retreat. We had a great weekend building out the team’s vision, as well as unwinding with some fun (although competitive) activities. I love working as a physio at PhysioWest as every day is a little different, and our team which is made up of diverse personalities is always up for lending support and creating a little fun.
