Karen has been with Children’s Physio SA for 9 years, and is a co-owner of the practice. Graduating in 2003, she has worked exclusively in paediatric Physiotherapy for over 17 years, across both the public and private sectors. Karen has experience across all areas of paediatric Physiotherapy, with the most interest and experience in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy. She currently works at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in a Senior Orthopaedic Physiotherapist role, as well as at Children’s Physio SA. Karen is highly experienced in the management of developmental hip dysplasia, and in casting and splinting techniques for children. She is trained in Ponseti management of children with clubfeet, and travelled to Iowa in the USA, the home of this technique, in 2013 for additional training. Outside of the practice Karen is a mum of two little girls, and loves spending time with her family. Qualifications Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours. Graduate Certificate, Health Administration.
Phil has over 20 years experience working in senior roles in paediatric physiotherapy. In 2023, he was appointed as an Adjunct Associate Professor in Physiotherapy at Flinders University.
Kathryn is an experienced paediatric physiotherapist having worked more than 25 years in senior roles at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. She has also worked with children in private practice settings. Kathryn aims to provide high quality, individualised physiotherapy care. She has specific skills and interest in developmental conditions, orthopaedics, musculoskeletal and hand physiotherapy including congenital conditions and recovery from injury or surgery. Kathryn is very experienced in exercise prescription, Ponseti club foot management and other specialist casting and splinting techniques for various conditions such as developmental hip dysplasia, foot deformities, toe walking and hand related problems. Kathryn enjoys travelling and has worked as a physiotherapist at the Children’s Hospital in Calgary, Canada for 12 months as well as spending more than 2 years in various physiotherapy roles in England and the United States. She loves keeping fit, spending time with family and friends, and being a mum to two teenage girls. Qualifications Master of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) Certificate IV, Project Management.
Since her graduation from the University of SA in 2007 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Maggie has worked exclusively in the paediatric setting. She has extensive experience across various sectors in paediatric healthcare. As well as her work with Children’s Physio SA, Maggie currently works at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital as a clinical educator teaching university students. Maggie’s particular areas of clinical interest include functional and play based intervention, with a special interest in the development of infants and early walkers. She works both at our rooms in North Adelaide and in the hydrotherapy pool. Away from work Maggie has a passion for travel, and is always planning her next big adventure!
Susie has worked as a paediatric Physiotherapist for over 30 years in a variety of settings and countries. Susie believes in seeing young children in their own environment and working collaboratively with families and caregivers. Susie has a special interest in working with children with global developmental delays, and particularly enjoys working with their families both at home and in the community, to assist the children to reach their developmental potential. Outside of her clinical work Susie enjoys gardening, rowing and singing, and spending time with her family, her dogs and her ducks! Melissa graduated from the University of South Australia in 1996. After initially working in adult rehabilitation, she moved to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in 1998 to pursue her paediatric Physiotherapy career.
Jordan joined Children’s Physio SA in early 2021 working as an Allied Health Assistant in the hydrotherapy pool, before graduating from Flinders University with a Master of Physiotherapy in 2021.
Eliza was thrilled to have joined the Children’s Physio SA team in mid 2021 in the hydrotherapy pool, where she is able to combine two of her greatest passions – engaging with children and providing therapeutic support.
Harry joined Children’s Physio SA in 2021 as an Allied Health Assistant in our hydrotherapy program. He was first introduced to the practice during a university placement for his Masters of Physiotherapy.
