I love being a family wellness chiropractor and educating families on the real cause of illness and disease. It is something I am committed to for life and am deeply passionate about. When I’m not at Goodwood Chiropractic I am: Keeping fit with exercise and strength training…followed by eating delicious fresh organic foods…followed by reading inspirational books…..and of course enjoying spending time with my wife, Kerry and watching our beautiful little girl, Cara grow up before my eyes.

Joshua grew up in Adelaide before moving over to Perth to complete a 5-year double-degree course at Murdoch University. Here, he graduated with Distinction in Science (BSc) and Chiropractic (BChiro). During this time, Joshua took part in the Murdoch University Outreach Program: a not-for-profit program that provides chiropractic services to the disadvantaged or less privileged members of the community. While participating in the Outreach Program, Joshua saw many challenging cases from people of all backgrounds. More can be read about the Outreach Program here: http://www.murdoch.edu.au/School-of-Health-Professions/Our-Facilities-and-Services/Chiropractic-Clinic/Outreach-clinics/. Upon graduating, he completed a dry needling course and worked as a chiropractor across several multi-disciplinary clinics in Perth. Throughout those years, he gained much experience in managing musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders. In 2018, Joshua moved back home to Adelaide to establish his own practice – North Adelaide Chiropractic, as part of Prevent Physiotherapy and Wellness. Joshua’s mission is to provide affordable, evidence-based treatment that is centered around the individual. In particular, Joshua believes in finding and treating the cause of a patient’s issue, and not just the symptoms. In order to do this, he places a large focus on orthopedic testing, muscle testing and nerve testing during the treatment session. This approach ensures that we have the highest chance of getting you the results you want. Dr Joshua has seen countless after-hours emergency and acute pain patients throughout his years as a chiropractor. He understands the importance of getting you moving again before the week starts and will take all the time necessary to give you the relief you need. After filling in the required paperwork, the chiropractor will take you into the consult room for a thorough history and examination. In most cases, the next step will be treatment on the first visit. Sometimes, patients may feel a little sore or tender in the area that was adjusted. This is more likely to occur if you haven’t had an adjustment before or if you haven’t had an adjustment in a long time. Think of it as the first time going to the gym in a while – your muscles will be sore as they would not be used to working or moving in those particular ways. Similarly, an adjustment relieves the tension in your joints, and allows the joint to move in ways it is not normally used to. Overall however, chiropractic is a hands-on, non-invasive, natural method of enabling your body to be at its best. Dr Joshua is trained in both manual and non-manual adjustment techniques, and has also completed a dry needling course. If you have a preference for treatment methods, or want to try something new for an old injury, let us know and we will be more than happy to meet your needs.
