Ms Rhiana
Physiotherapist, Apex Physiotherapy & Clinical Pilates

Rhiana first became interested in physiotherapy through her ballet training, where she often interacted with physiotherapists for management of her dance injuries. When she was no longer able to continue with ballet professionally, physiotherapy became a clear choice as a way to build on her knowledge of the body and movement. She graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy. Since working in private practice, Rhiana has developed a passion for building strong therapeutic relationships with her clients, to help them achieve their long-term movement goals. With a strong emphasis on up-to-date knowledge and evidence-based practice, she can help you across various conditions, from acute injury to chronic pain. She has also grown a keen interest in women’s health throughout the lifespan, especially around pregnancy and postpartum care. Outside of physiotherapy, Rhiana enjoys learning new skills in arts and crafts, she taught herself how to embroider (she hopes to eventually embroider her clothes!) and is now tackling watercolour paints. On her days off, you might spot her at art markets or in artist collectives, admiring works of local artists.

Chris
Physiotherapist, Apex Physiotherapy & Clinical Pilates

Having a love of the problem solving aspect of physiotherapy, Chris enjoys the more complex musculoskeletal injuries. He enjoys the direct effect physiotherapy has on improving people’s quality of life which Chris finds hugely rewarding and continues to drive him to keep learning. Chris strongly believes a mixture of ‘hands on’ manual therapy combined with exercise rehabilitation is very important and uses this in the clinic where possible. Having graduated from Curtin University with a degree in Physiotherapy, Chris has since worked in private practice treating musculoskeletal injuries. He has gained valuable experience through his ongoing treatment of spinal injuries including back and neck pain and has a keen interest in treating acute musculoskeletal conditions including the shoulder, hip and knee pain. He uses hands on treatment techniques to correct biomechanical issues and for pain relief. He places a strong emphasis on restoring function and strength after an injury to ensure 100% recovery and to prevent re-injury. Whilst away from the practice you’ll find Chris playing cricket, riding his dirtbike and staying fit and healthy in the gym! Chris works at our Canning Vale Physiotherapy clinic.

Khang completed his Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at Curtin University as the musculoskeletal system is something he is passionate about and has always had a devoted interest in. Khang is trained in massage, joint mobilisation, joint manipulation and exercise rehabilitation and strives to provide all his patients with high-quality care and is always looking to broaden his clinical skills with the latest up-to-date evidence. Outside of physiotherapy, Khang is an avid practitioner in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has also been involved with other various martial arts for the past 10 years. Ms Vandana
Physiotherapist, Life Spring Physiotherapy

Hi, I’m Vandana. I am a trusted physiotherapist with over 12 years of experience. Practicing in metropolitan and rural settings across Western Australia and the Northern Territory has provided me with unique opportunities to meet and help people from various cultures and backgrounds. Having experience in many physiotherapy disciplines in both public and private practice allows me to effectively diagnose and treat your condition - no matter where you are on life’s journey. Since completing my degree in Physiotherapy at Curtin University in 2009, I continually seek opportunities to up-skill myself in physiotherapy, leadership and management. In 2022, I completed a Certificate in Spinal Manual Therapy, enabling me to use a current, evidence-based and comprehensive approach to the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain disorders. My approach is tailored to suit your individual needs. I will explain your condition and treatment to you so you can feel empowered through the healing process. I am an understanding and caring person with a sensitive approach. You can be assured of a positive and nurturing experience as we work through your issues. I am committed to understanding your issues and improving your quality of life. I am committed to providing you with a personalised, effective and caring treatment. Understanding your needs, abilities, preferences and health goals is vital to creating an individualised treatment plan. My ‘hands on’ approach also promotes preventative care, not a ‘fix-and-go' method. I focus on education - explaining your condition to you, its causes, treatment and prevention. Holistic means considering all aspects of one’s health, and not just one. While physiotherapists are experts in treating the physical, understanding social and psychological aspects can be vital to revealing and addressing the root of an issue.

She then went on to complete a certificate in Orthopaedic Manual therapy and another certificate in Pain Management. She was previously a co-owner of a private practice in South Africa with a keen focus on managing a variety of musculoskeletal problems, sports injuries, chronic pain, work related injuries and return to work rehabilitation. Sophie
Receptionist and Physiotherapist (in training), Cannington Physiotherapy

You may recognize Sophie as a familiar face at Cannington as she has worked at reception while completing her Physiotherapy degree at the University of Notre Dame. Soph was very active growing up. She was a part of the Western Australian Athletics state teams, played netball and volleyball at a high level, and danced in her younger years. This exposed Sophie to the world of Physiotherapy on many occasions. Soph has developed a keen interest for rehabilitating musculoskeletal sporting injuries as well as providing guidance with strength and conditioning programs to enhance patients’ performances. Soph got to develop her interest and skills through experiences at the Australian Institute of Sport, state team trips and assisting on game days for the Southside Demons Netball Club. When not at work, you will find Soph cheering on the West Coast Eagles, playing with her four legged friends or soaking up the sunshine.
