Currently on maternity leave until 2024 Amy completed her Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Hons) at Flinders University in 2004. She began her professional career at a small private practice working with children with speech and language difficulties and delays before moving to work for a Not-For-Profit service provider in the disability sector. Since then Amy has worked with children and adults with a wide range of conditions and disabilities, including cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome and motor neurone disease. She founded Wayfinder Disability Services in 2018. Amy has particular skills, knowledge and passion for working with people who have complex communication needs (limited or no functional speech), physical disabilities and a need for Assistive Technology. Amy has extensive knowledge of a wide range of AAC systems and technologies including: PODD (direct and alternate access), Proloquo2go, Minspeak, iPad based AAC apps, switch access AAC systems and eyegaze technology. Amy is committed to working with people and their support networks to identify and use the best system/s for their needs.
